Production Update + More Frankenstein Pages Being Distributed!

Dear Fellow Mad Scientists

Happy new year!

I’m Robert Napton, Publisher at Legendary Comics. We have a big update for you: a preview of the first 44 pages of the graphic novel (see downloand instructions below). While these are not 100% final and are not meant to be re-shared or posted, we wanted to update you on our progress. We have more pages in various states of production.

As you will see, we, the artists, and Sara Karloff have taken great pains to adapt Mary Shelley’s novel and honor Boris Karloff in a new interpretation of the Monster. But achieving this level of care and detail has been a bit more work than we anticipated when we launched in Feb of 2023, so the expected delivery date of next month is not going to be achieved. We have a great deal more work to do, the realistic timeline now is a summer completion date with printing and delivery to follow. Dracula is done, standing ready to be reunited with Frankenstein.

We hope seeing what we are trying to create explains some of the delay and we plan to keep you updated with interesting art as we near the end.

Thank you for making this book possible – it’s an honor to work on it, and you are not just the customers, you are co-creators in this endeavor that helped make it possible, and we wanted you to know the efforts we are making to make this book be the best it can be for Mary Shelley, the Monster, and actor Boris Karloff.

We are sharing three Mary Shelley's Frankenstein starring Boris Karloff  PDFs with everyone today. The first features pages 1 through 5, and are lettered. The other two are pages 6 through 25, and 26 through 44 - these are not lettered. All three PDFs will being distributed through BackerKit.

Be on the lookout over the next 48 hours for an email from BackerKit that will take you to your survey.

Once in your survey, you will see a blue "Get Your Digital Downloads" button that you can click to access your PDF (see example below).

We are noticing on other campaigns that not everyone is getting the email notification, so if 48 hours have passed and you have not received anything, first we suggest using the link you received when BackerKit surveys initially went out. If that doesn't work, you can click the link below to enter the email address associated with your survey and BackerKit will send you a new one:
